Chinese Recipes (Kung Pao Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork)

 

Kung Pao Chicken


 

Ingredients:

- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

- 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts

- 1 red bell pepper, diced

- 1 green bell pepper, diced

- 1/2 cup diced onions

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)

- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and chili flakes. Set aside.

2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.

3. In the same pan, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Stir-fry for a few minutes until vegetables are slightly tender.

4. Add the chicken back to the pan along with the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables.

5. Add peanuts and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.

6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.


Egg Fried Rice



Ingredients:

- 3 cups cooked rice, preferably chilled

- 2 eggs, lightly beaten

- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, etc.)

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

 

Instructions:

1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

2. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant.

3. Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for a few minutes until tender.

4. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until cooked.

5. Add the chilled rice to the pan and stir-fry to break up any clumps.

6. Drizzle soy sauce over the rice and continue stirring to evenly coat the rice and vegetables.

7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

9. Serve hot as a main dish or as a side with other Chinese dishes.

 

 Sweet and Sour Pork



Ingredients:

- 1 lb (450g) pork loin, cut into bite-sized pieces

- 1 cup pineapple chunks

- 1 green bell pepper, diced

- 1 red bell pepper, diced

- 1 small onion, diced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/2 cup ketchup

- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar

- 2 tablespoons brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

 

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Set aside.

2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the pork and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the pork is cooked through. Remove pork from the pan and set aside.

3. In the same pan, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

4. Add the

 

 cooked pork and pineapple chunks to the pan.

5. Pour the sauce mixture over the ingredients in the pan and stir well to coat everything evenly.

6. Continue cooking for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the pork and vegetables.

7. Adjust seasoning if needed.

8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
